Media Revisited

I still love this Chrysler/Eminem commercial. I still agree with everything I said in the first blog - they really use music and movement to sell their message and product and crescendo to the end.

There are a few items I notice now after studying art design. The black shiny car is placed throughout the video as the video progresses through the story.

At the end there are stark white letters on black, first on the black car:

and then just on a black background.

The white capital letters on the black background make a bold statement.

They tend to use a splash of red especially at the beginning and end of the commercial. In the beginning they have a grey/black background but in each scene there is a splash of red - red in the crane, red in the Detroit sign, red in the lights on the car, red in the smokestacks and in the American flag. At the end they use red again with the black background in the lighting of the car and the fox sign, the carpet, and the choir colors.

I really think this is an effective commercial in all aspects of design and message.

Creating a Learning Element

Here is my Learning Element for my Poetry VoiceThread.   It is on CGLearner.com.  I have provided a link to the site and then included a copy of the text from the site in GoogleDocs in case you cannot access the site but it does not include everything.

Here is the link to the Learning Element on CGLearner.com.
